Lau Kau Mansion features typical the style of Qing Dynasty of China. Constructed from thick grey bricks, with the interior done in Guangdong-style brick carvings and ash moldings combined with southern European-style blue-white porcelain bricks and iron cast handrails, the mansion integrates both the Chinese and western styles.
